Four CSS Model UN students competed Saturday in the Academic WorldQuest competition, and event hosted by Rampart High School and sponsored by the Colorado Springs World Affairs Council. The Kodiaks won the competition, which was a written trivia contest including questions about a variety of topics, including international economics, geography, Middle Eastern politics, and the environment.
The team, which consisted of juniors Quinn A., Carl C., and Alex M. and senior Owen M., scored 79/100 points, edging out Rampart High School by eight points.
Because of their victory Saturday, the four competing students will have the opportunity to travel to Washington D.C. on the last weekend in April to compete in the national Academic WorldQuest competition, representing the Colorado Springs School's Model UN team. The expenses for this trip will be paid for in full by the generous support of the World Affairs Council of Colorado Springs.
